Re: Conference Championship Weekend
What I've heard is that Khoza does indeed have mono and that is the reason he hasn't played for the past week and a half or so (he would be out for the District and State playoffs anyhow). Tough break for him to miss the Altoona game and LHAC playoffs. As for Witherspoon, everything has been really ...

Re: Holliday tournaments
According to Maxpreps the BG boys are playing Hempfield and Laurel Highlands the 27th & 28th. Sounds to me like a tournament over in the Pittsburgh area. The BG girls are listed as playing McCort and Portage so that looks like it would be in the War Memorial tournament. Unless Maxpreps has it wr...

Re: The rich get richer
Last night I talked with someone familiar with the transfer who told me St. Joseph’s signed off on it, and he will be eligible to play in the regular season this year but not the playoffs. Next year he would be eligible to play in both.

Re: Altoona High School Openings....
Based on the size of the school, the history of the program, and the number of former players this program has put in to major college/NBA, I don't think it's much of an argument that Altoona is the premier program in Blair County. While that might not be much to brag about in the current era of hig...

Altoona High School Openings....
Reliable word is that both Coaches Doug West and Miriam College resigned from their positions at Altoona Area High School today. It'll be fascinating to see where they go for replacements for these jobs. Former AAHS star Kristi (Little) Kaack is the Head Coach right across town at BG. This would see...

Re: Reggie Nevins story
I have no affiliation to the Central program at all but this entire thing is absurd. When you put a microphone or recorder in a coach's face immediately after a tough loss that ended the season for his seniors, you are going to get an emotional response at times. How is this a fireable offense? Is t...

Re: Thursday Scoreboard 2-28-19
SFB14 - Don't start with the program and working harder. That has nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter if JV beats BC or BG blows out West Branch, private schools still do not have the same random population as public schools. I'm not talking about recruiting, just the mere fact that anyone can...

Re: Thursday Scoreboard 2-28-19
You, me or anyone else, are never going to solve the Public vs. Private debate. I'm sure this post will be met with a few or several rebuttals and that's expected. My wife and I graduated from public schools and sent our children to BG for reasons that were uniquely our own. One played sports, one p...

Re: Thursday Scoreboard 2-28-19
Bishop Guilfoyle 83 West Branch 35 Not surprised but still crazy that is a district final score. Yet many don't understand -why- parochials , privates, and charters should be playing up a couple classes. Good thing Juniata Valley basketball and football (and Homer Center football last year) didn’t...

Re: Saturday Scoreboard 2-23-19
Touché, we’ll see over the spring/summer what Collins does and chooses. Should be somewhere nice I’m assuming and he’d fit in well. I got a question though. Will the younger Ruggedy be better than the older one? I don't know the Collins kid at all. I wish him the very best and hope he gets a look s...
