Re: New LHAC member....

I could see Somerset testing the waters, but where would they go?

Re: Richland/Westmont

The rules are not different, they are the same. The difference is football is not usually played in a double header. The rule is an ejection you are DQ’d from all levels of play on same day as ejection , and you sit the next game at the same level you were DQ’d from. Applies to both players and coa...

Re: Richland/Westmont

I'm sure the question and error in judgment comes from the actions in a JV game carrying over to the Varsity... 2 T's, you're done plus one game suspension at that level....The gray area, for some, would be how it would affect Varsity action. You're probably right but I'm guessing this is well know...

Re: Richland/Westmont

What is the process for this? Do the refs file a report with LHAC, D6 and PIAA? Is Richland required to self-report? Or did Westmont file a report or protest the game. Just curious how this all works? I don't know about the specifics of this situation and who told who, but officials are required to...

Re: Richland/Westmont

What's more embarrassing-having to forfeit a game or receiving 2 Ts in a JV game?

Re: 2020 LV schedule....

Central likely left because they realized they weren't a good fit. The question with them is why they joined in the first place. Ligonier Valley, Chestnut Ridge, Northern Cambria and now Cambria Heights just felt they couldn't compete. Each put its tail between its legs and fled to greener pastures...

Re: Referee shortage

Bump the pay, it’s supply and demand. I may not get yelled at for $55 but I would for $100. Harrisburg chapter pays $100 for Soccer games, no referee shortages and as a ref it’s sometimes hard to get a game because of the number of refs Certainly wouldn't hurt, but you're talking about varsity leve...

Re: Referee shortage

Don't most JV and Jr. High games start at 4:00? How many people with regular jobs can swing that? It probably goes back to what McCoolRedDevil said earlier... although I disagree with part of his comment, he is right that a lot more teachers and those who work at schools would officiate. It made se...

Re: Referee shortage

One way to combat ref shortage is to go back to 5 man crews.   Ridge olayed a lot of games in wv and md last 10 years and they had 5 man varsity crews.  Those crews did just fine.  Im seeing the opposite recently where a lot of varsity game are done by 7 man crews. This is treating the symptom and ...
