Re: Inquiring Minds Want to Know
I attended a match between a district 5 vs a district 6 team a few weeks ago. There were only 3 wt. classes that actually wrestled, and 2 out of the 3 were pins under60 sec.. All the other wt. classes were forfeit matches. It is sad to see the decline that is taking place in many of the smaller schoo...

Re: Northern Bedford vs Steelton Highspire
The parking will be a nightmare for the NBC game at Claysburg on Friday . Not only is there a football game, but the Claysburg Community theater is having their yearly production, The Sound of Music, in the school auditorium, which always draws a large crowd.

Athletic transfers draws concerns
In today's Altoona Mirror, there is a front page story, in which Claysburg parents, went to last nights Claysburg Kimmel's school board meeting, to complain about CK students who live in the district, but attend Chestnut Ridge for sports. They were also upset, that 2 girls who live in Hollidaysburg,...

Revised Student Reporting Procedure PIAA
FYI The PIAA at their meeting on 9/13, made a change on how schools will be reporting their student numbers, starting 2024. The change in reporting students, comes from the elimination of a ten percent rule, that has been in place for students who did not attend the traditional high school format fo...

Re: 2023 LHAC Football
The new sport's fields at Claysburg-kimmel are unbelievable. It reminds me of what you might see at a small college, not at a single A school. One of the fans told me it was done at a cost of between 5- 7 million , and they still have more to do in adding of additional parking lots ,a fully furnishe...

H.S. Basketball Rules Changes
, PIAA has altered free-throw rules in boys and girls basketball, eliminating one=one situations.Rather than a 1+1 after common/non shooting fouls, teams will receive 2 foul shots in 23-24.The new rule also changes when teams get in the bonus. That will happen after a team commits 5 fouls in a quarte...

Williamsburg girls basketball
Went to the Williamsburg vs. St. Joseph from WPIAL, girls basketball game Saturday. I had watched W.B. games on schools website, but actually seeing them live, I was blown away. St. Joe had a much greater ht. advantage, but W.B hustle, shooting and defense may the game a blow out, I believe almost t...

Reality Check Bellwood
I was bored over the weekend and decided to check out some of the football schedules in the LHAC for 2023. The one that really caught my eye was Bellwood-Antis. They play Bald Eagle, Westmont, Tyrone, B.G , Central and Penn Cambria to name a few. They better put on their big boy pants, it will be in...
