Re: Moving up

Well I think it's highly UNUSUAL for one team to have 4 out of 5 starters on an all-state team. Guess the school probably has great facilities. Couldn't be like the team was stacked or anything.

Re: Moving up

Anyone see the boy's AAAAA all-state basketball team just released a few days ago? Archbishop Wood had 4 players make the 3 teams. One on the 1st team, two on the 2nd team and one on the third team. And in AAAAAA, Roman Catholic had 3 players make the teams. Let's hear it for competitive balance.

Re: Coronavirus this n that

What if you're not in Heaven? Then you have to continuously watch Bob Moose's wild pitch which cost the Pirates the pennant over the Reds, or the Russians beating the USA in Olympic basketball with 2 seconds left, or Sid Bream sliding over home plate giving the Braves the pennant.

Re: Kyle Silk to St. Vincent

People just don't like it when someone tries to buck the system. He said he was always "well behaved and intelligent" , and said "he didn't transfer for athletic reasons but because of school issues". Really? You may not root AGAINST kids who put themselves in those situations, but you certainly may...

Re: It's Curt Flood's Fault

Note of interest. Greg Schiano and Rutgers just picked up their 8th football transfer this spring. They were from Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, BC, Baylor, Minnesota, Central Florida and William and Mary. All were lateral moves except for W&M.

Re: It's Curt Flood's Fault

Been 10 days since I started this post. I'll bet 15-20 college basketball players have transferred over that time. Most of these transfers have favored the schools of the power 5 conferences. Of course some teams have been hurt by these moves too. But mainly players have made lateral moves from scho...

Re: It's Curt Flood's Fault

Again, we all understand why professional players move to other teams. Good for them. But I'm talking about the GAME itself. When a transfer starts for his new college basketball team, for example, what does that tell you? It says that the team had no one better, and that team has improved it's chan...

Re: It's Curt Flood's Fault

….Definition of a purist: a person who insists on adherence to traditional rules. I understand why Curt Flood thought he was a slave to the Cardinals back in the day. But for the sake of the game itself, none of the games mentioned above will ever be the same. The 3-point shot in basketball certainl...
