Re: 2025 Girls state playoffs

11 teams from District 6 advanced in the first round out of a possible 14. Again, I think that speaks to the quality of basketball here and how it stacks up everywhere. Also, Northern Bedford won in A, and not surprisingly Berlin also moved in AA out of D5. In A, I expect Bishop Guilfoyle and Bishop...

Re: 2025 Boys state playoffs

For the local teams, the boys did not match the production as the girls did in the first round. District 5 entered the state playoffs with 7 teams spread across three classes, but only Turkeyfoot Valley, the Class-A champs made it through to the second round. District 6 produced only four winners ou...

Re: 2025 Girls state playoffs

The girls basketball here locally can stack up pretty well with any part of the state. There is a reason Bellwood, Berlin, BG, Bishop McCort, Homer Center, Juniata Valley, North Star, River Valley, Marion Center, and Westmont have all made it to Hershey in the past 10 years. I think the Heritage is ...

Re: 2025 Boys state playoffs

5A Johnstown is a tough case. I think they are capable of winning a few games in this tournament, but Moon could also beat them tonight. Tisinger and Robinson are a tough combo and they did play some WPIAL teams this year and beat all of them. Five of Moon's losses were to Montour and Chartiers Vall...

Re: Got hoops? Tis the season.

Couple good ones tonight (Wednesday) Johnstown at Westmont and BG at Hollidaysburg. For the LHAC... Looks like the East will come down to four teams: BG (8-0), Hollidaysburg (9-1), Central (6-2), and Tyrone (6-2). West seems like it'll be between Johnstown (10-0), Forest Hills (9-1), and Westmont (7...

Re: Got hoops? Tis the season.

Those CC teams were pretty good and I don't think they did much four corners. Jordan Miller and Mike Gowen were great HS players for around here.
