Re: Food for thought
Play a nine game schedule, have two weeks of district playoffs and call it a year. Eleven games maximum. We don't need to crown a state champ. in fact, you could argue that we don't need to crown a district champ. The season could end after nine games.

Re: Food for thought
I think that the numbers show the weakness of District 5, I mean those games have averaged 44-0, it is like getting a week off for Clairton. That is about as noncompetitive as it could be. Football season is a month too long. Eliminating garbage games like this in the postseason should be a no brai...

Re: Are there any kids at McCort from Richland
I don't think Richland ever supplied many kids to Bishop McCort via St. Benedict's. I would bet most of the kids who go to St. Benedict's live in Stonycreek Township. St. Benedict's probably also draws kids from Windber, Lorain Borough and even Conemaugh Township (Cambria County).

Re: Conemaugh Valley Football
This is bad news for CV. I was concerned about its ability to field a team in 2013 as it has just four seniors and three sophomores returning. Redman lives in West Virginia and had done a good job with what he had to work with.

Re: District 5 and 6 Realignment..almost Wpial like?
If it were up to fans football season would never end. I think sixteen games in sixteen weeks is too much football for 15, 16 and 17 year olds.

Re: District 5 and 6 Realignment..almost Wpial like?
"I personally think that districts need realigned with distance to another school being the only concern. This way money wouldn't be wasted for long trips on away games, you keep the local rivalries alive, which by the way do the best at the gate.' I agree and bringing this up the same week that ...

Re: Hurricane Sandy Closes Schools
The playoffs start this week for 3-6 Hollidaysburg and 4-5 Altoona. I don't think missing a few days of practice will have much effect on the outcome of their games.

Re: Fetzer Stepping Down at Penn Cambria
I believe in most school districts the superintendent, principal and school board outrank the football coach or the AD.

Conemaugh Valley and Ferndale have the largest marching bands in town judging by last night's Halloween parade.
