Week Four District Six Class A Power Rankings

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

1. Bishop Guilfoyle 4-0 Defeated Cambria Heights 48-3  Next up: @ Forest Hills   Last Week: #1
Bishop Guilfoyle had their most dominating performance of the season with a 45 point win over Cambria Heights. With the victory, it extend's the state longest active winning streak to 36 games. Senior tailback, Andrew Irwin, had an outstanding showing in week three with 108 yards on just 9 carries, while also catching three passes for 44 yards and finishing with three touchdowns. The Harvard commitment is off to a great start in his senior season, and has not let this team skip a beat without Evan Chadbourn.

2. Homer-Center 4-0  Defeated Northern Cambria 35-34 Next up: @ Penns Manor   Last Week: #2
Homer Center hung on to knock off Northern Cambria by a point last week. They were up 28-6 at one point during the game, but nearly let it slip away. Fortunately, the Homer offense led by senior Jesse Beacker, made some plays down the stretch to preserve the victory.  They will look to get to 5-0 this week when they travel to Clymer to take on Penns Manor.

3. Portage 3-1 Defeated Conemaugh Valley 42-14  Next up: Blacklick Valley    Last Week: #4
Portage was in a battle early with Conemaugh Valley, but turned it on to dispatch the Blue Jays by four touchdowns.  The Mustangs have a pretty manageable schedule in the coming weeks, and could build up a home field playoff resume.  Their next three opponents are 0-4, 0-4, and 2-2. If they can win these games, it'll set up a big showdown with Berlin on October 14.

4. Moshannon Valley 3-1 Defeated Claysburg-Kimmel 28-14  Next up: @ Bellwood-Antis  Last Week: #5
Moshannon Valley got back on track with a win over Claysburg-Kimmel last week. It sets up an important ICC showdown with 3-1 Bellwood-Antis on Friday, in what is one of the biggest games of the weekend.

5. Blairsville 4-0  Defeated Saltsburg 35-18   Next up: @ Northern Cambria   Last Week: Not Ranked
In one of the biggest surprises in District Six, Blairsville is off to a 4-0 start. Coming into the year off a 2-8 season, expectations were not high for the Bobcats. In any event, they are now in the conversation. They have their biggest test this Friday with a trip to Northern Cambria.
