Week Five District Six Class A Power Rankings

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

1. Bishop Guilfoyle 5-0 Defeated Forest Hills 45-0 Next up: Penn Cambria  Last: #1

Bishop Guilfoyle just continues to roll, their winning streak is up to 37 games. The 37 game winning streak is the best active streak in the state of Pennsylvania, and the 7th best in the nation. They played their second consecutive game without quarterback Josh Trybus, but it didn't seem to matter. They may see a better test this week against an upstart 4-1 Penn Cambria team.

2. Homer Center 5-0 Defeated Penns Manor 21-14  Next up: United  Last: #2

Homer Center has remained in the number two spot all year. They beat Penns Manor, a team that handled them by 35 points last season. Greg Page's team is off to a great start and will look to make it 6-0 with United coming to town this Friday.

3. Portage 4-1 Defeated Blacklick Valley 56-7  Next up: @ North Star  Last: #3

Portage handled business against an over-matched Blacklick Valley team by 49 points. They have two winnable road games on the horizon before the big showdown with Berlin on October 14. The Mustangs should be 6-1 before that game.

4. Blairsville 5-0  Defeated Northern Cambria 35-20  Next up: Penns Manor  Last: #5

Blairsivlle is one of the surprise teams of the area. Not much was expected from the Bobcats, but here they are sitting at 5-0. They knocked off a solid Northern Cambria team by two touchdowns, and some momentum heading into this week's game with Penns Manor.  The schedule gets tougher, but for now so far so good for Blairsville.

5. Williamsburg Defeated Tussey Mountain 45-0  Next up: Bellwood-Antis  Last: Not Ranked

Right now there is three 3-2 teams in class A. Williamsburg was the only team to win last weekend, so I place them at number five.  It just goes to show you that this playoff race will get jumbled in the coming weeks. Williamsburg has a good offense, and they will be put to the test against class AA Bellwood-Antis.
