Week Five District Six Class AAA Power Rankings

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

1. Central 4-1 Defeated Bald Eagle 50-0  Next up: @ Chestnut Ridge  Last: #1

Central throttled Bald Eagle by a score of 50-0 to improve to 4-1. The Dragons were once again led by their sensational senior running back Alex Hoenstine. He posted 141 yards on the ground and four scores, he completed a pass for 35 yards, and caught five passes for 43 yards. He also handled the punting duties and played a nice game on defense. He's one of the busiest players in the area. They travel to Chestnut Ridge on Friday. Ridge just lost to Bald Eagle 3-0 before Central beat Bald Eagle 50-0, so many would expect a win here for Central.

2. Juniata 4-1 Defeated Millersburg 84-7  Next up: Huntingdon Last: #3

Well, Juniata just crushed Millersburg of District Three last week. 84 (!) points in a high school football game is insane, but the Indians offense has shown those kind of capabilities before.  We're always wondering what type of competition they have, but they have a game with Huntingdon this week, and we should see what Juniata is really about on Friday.

3. Penn Cambria 4-1 Defeated Bishop Carroll 42-8  Next up: @ Bishop Guilfoyle  Last: #4

Penn Cambria won their fourth straight game last week, as they cruised by Bishop Carroll. Things will get significantly different this week as they travel to Mansion Park to play top-ranked class A Bishop Guilfoyle.  They'll need a big showing from their senior running back, Nick Hite, who has been excellent this season.

4. Tyrone 3-2 Lost to Bellefonte 14-13  Next up: @ Bald Eagle  Last: #2

Tyrone was upset by Bellefonte last week by one. Not many saw that coming, but the Golden Eagles are dealing with some injuries and Bellefonte is a little better than people realize. Still, Tyrone usually doesn't lose Bellefonte. They will look to rebound against Bald Eagle on Friday.

5. Bedford 3-2 Lost to Bishop McCort 42-0  Next up: Westmont  Last: #5

Nobody stepped up to take the last spot, so Bedford stays for now. The Bisons just couldn't get anything going offensively against Bishop McCort. Still, they were playing mostly good football until last week. Perhaps they shake it off, and beat Westmont to get to 4-2.

Tyrone will be without Light again this week. Last weeks 2 QB's will be replaced. Will be interesting to see what happens when you just take one of your best athletes and put him under center. Hopefully it works out a loss to BEA would make things difficult

Mitchell is getting a shot. Easiest way to get him the ball right? Hopefully Light will be back next week
