Week Eight District Six Class A Power Rankings

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

1. Bishop Guilfoyle 8-0 Defeated Central Cambria 49-7   Next up: Johnstown   Last Week: #1
Bishop Guilfoyle had little trouble with Central Cambria last week. The Marauders have now won 40 straight football games. The game with Johnstown should be their biggest test of the season. Both teams enter this game 8-0 and this is essentially the LHAC Championship game.  Johnstown has an edge with speed and quickness, but the Guilfoyle line and defense is very good. Contrasting styles, but two very good football teams. Should be a good one at Mansion Park.

2. Homer Center 7-1  Defeated West Shamokin 26-20   Next up: Blairsville   Last Week: #3
Homer Center outlasted West Shamokin last week to pick up their seventh victory and move back into #2 in the power rankings. The Wildcats have a big game this week with Blairsville on Friday.

3. Moshannon Valley 6-2  Defeated Juniata Valley 20-13   Next up: West Branch  Last Week: Not Ranked
Moshannon Valley knocked off Juniata Valley in a battle of 5-2 teams. The Knights are now riding a three game winning streak and appear back on track after the loss to Bellwood.  They welcome a 2-6 West Branch team to Houtzdale this week as they look to improve to 7-2.

4. Portage 6-2 Lost to Berlin 20-3   Next up: @ Shade   Last Week: #2
Portage just can't seem to get over the hump against Berlin. The Mountaineers have had the Mustangs' number in recent seasons. Portage slips up to 6-2 on the year. They have a tricky game with Shade this week on the road, Portage needs to ready to play.

5. Blairsville  6-2   Next up: @ Homer Center   Last Week: #5
We all know by now about the tragic events that occurred in Blairsville last week. My heart and sympathy goes out to the family, community, and the team.  The Bobcats will have an emotional game on Friday against Homer Center on Friday.
