Yes it was. I admit totally unexpected. Now if they don't drop 3 in a row.....there may, repeat may, be room for a glimmer of optimism. I see where the Reds will come falling to earth due to injuries. No one can control injuries. I'm in Penguins mode right now.

Bucs just lost to the team with the worst record in the league. And so it goes on.

You know they play 162 games right? You seem to be treating this like a 20 game high school baseball season.

The Cubs have the same record as the Pirates, and the Cubs are the best team in the NL top to bottom.

As long as starting pitching continues to be relatively solid the bats will come around. We knew this team lacked a lot of "pop" in the line up. Cutch may not have the greatest numbers thus far either, but if you actually spend time watching the games you can see that he is driving the ball again. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this team.

Cutch does have an 8 game hitting streak going. He looks fairly good to this point.

Among many things, the Pirates need Starling Marte to get going.  Josh Bell, despite having two hits last night, also is a concern.   I doubt anyone expects David Freese to keep up his pace.
