Swept the Cubs last time they played. Last year was a total disaster against Chicago, something like 4-15 against the Cubs. Would be nice to eclipse that total this series.
Encouraging starting pitching lately. I was pretty surprised with Glasnow the other day, would like to see his progression. He's going to take some lumps, but you can see the talent.

I'm going to knock on wood with a light tap. Yes, the pitching has been pretty good. Considering 6 of the last 9 games we held the opponent to 2 runs or less.
If only closed minds came with closed mouths

Need to score. Lots has been said of Cutch, but to be honest I think he's doing his part. Bell seems to be coming along, but I really think the key is Polanco. The guy was pretty much the MVP of the world baseball classic, and has been awful since. I know there was/probably is, an injury, but if he doesn't play like the all star he was projected to be, the Bucs can't win consistently.

Compared to last April? Cutch is doing just fine.

Frazier to the 10 day DL, the Pirates call up relief pitcher Dovydas Neverauskas from AAA.
Not sure why they called up a pitcher to replace a fielder, but Neverauskas is pretty well regarded. Has a 0.00 ERA in 8.1 innings this year down on the farm. Pirates #23 overall prospect.
