Ask the seniors. Not many kids would turn down one more chance to play, even if they’re the underdog.knowitall wrote:Why prolong your season to lose by 42?

I think they'd treat It like Southern Huntington Is forfeiting and Richland would be the only team that would get a bye.tubmill wrote:With Southern not participating, will Richland have a bye or will the top three teams have a bye. The latter scenario makes more sense.
Re: District 6 Class AA Playoff Standings
that’s not a decision for the seniors to make. They have already had the opportunity to play in 40 or more games. There is no point in a 4-6 team to incur travel expenses to lose by 42 and risk senseless injury in the process.

Then what happens in the second round? You’d have 5 teamstubmill wrote:With Southern not participating, will Richland have a bye or will the top three teams have a bye. The latter scenario makes more sense.

So instead, we continue to teach them that it’s ok to quit if you’re the underdog.knowitall wrote:that’s not a decision for the seniors to make. No, we just teach them that they can suck at something and still be rewarded for it. It’s a joke that sub .500 teams can make the playoffsPAMDGrappler wrote:So instead, we continue to teach them that it’s ok to quit if you’re the underdog.knowitall wrote:that’s not a decision for the seniors to make. Re: District 6 Class AA Playoff Standings
That's ludicrous. If a school has a policy to not enter a team with a sub-500 record, than so be it. The kids of that school know that policy at the beginning of the season. What schools with that policy teach their students is, work hard and do your best and good things will come your way. If those players did that and won more than they lost they deserve to be in the playoffs. If they worked hard, gave their very best and still lost, then they can hold their heads high. There is absolutely no way that an overmatched team with a losing record should risk getting their kids hurt. Entering a losing team in the playoffs is like giving them a participation trophy.PAMDGrappler wrote:So instead, we continue to teach them that it’s ok to quit if you’re the underdog.knowitall wrote:that’s not a decision for the seniors to make. You guys certainly have a point, but I should also point out that Blairsville is 4-3 against Single A competition, yet 4-6, overall, they have a lot of kids coming back next year, I don't see anything wrong with them playing next week, although, PL will probably hand it to them. They shouldn't have to apologize for losing to 3 Double A teams and playing in a play-off game. Meanwhile Southern Huntingdon played 7 Single A schools out of 10, yet couldn't find a way to win 5 games. They probably should stay home.

No. We teach them if you don’t win enough games, it’s over. You don’t get an 11th chance.PAMDGrappler wrote:So instead, we continue to teach them that it’s ok to quit if you’re the underdog.knowitall wrote:that’s not a decision for the seniors to make.
