Heritage-Week 12

Post by saltsburgtrojanfan1989 »

To paraphrase an album from Genesis: ......and then there were four

Bellwood-Antis at Ligonier Valley: This game will be a catastrophe before it begins. Bellwood will get a score or two agains the Ligonier JV team late.

Purchase Line at Portage: The PL Red Dragons were barely able to hold off a Blairsville Bobcat team they blasted early in the year. PL has to travel to tri-champions of the WestPac Portage. The Portage mustangs will have the advantage of the Community and home field fans riled up.

Homer-Center at Juniata Valley: The past two District 6 Class A champions square off. JV will be far too much for Homer though. Homer has the lengthy travel and JV has the home field.

Claysburg-Kimmel at Saltsburg: This the game of the week in both the Heritage and ICC. Claysburg-Kimmel roared to victory albeit against a lowly Penns Manor squad. The C-K Bulldogs have a long trip to take on a much better and well-rounded Saltsburg squad. Saltsburg has had a nice seaon and the Trojans have the factors of Josh Gibbons and his compliment of playmakers. Secondly, The Saltsburg Trojans are hosting their first ever home playoff game in any sport. Look for the Saltsburg Trojan home crowd to be pumped, riled up, loud and proud. The Trojans will no doubt be inspired by the home playoff game and the excited and pumped home crowd.

The only thing concerning both Portage and Saltsburg is that they are both coming off byes. How rusty will both the Mustangs and Trojans be when they play on Friday and Saturday respectively.

Any other thoughts and predictions?

LV will win.  Lopsided losses for PL, HC, and Saltsburg.

Dear young Trojan fan,
This would actually be the second playoff game hosted in Saltsburg, the 1981 Appalachian Bowl a Trojan 21-6 victory over Shade was also played in Saltsburg. I was a junior at Laurel Valley that year and had trouble finding a spot to watch the game even in the endzone and I don't even want to talk about what a mess parking was, lol

Come on fellas, are you really expecting Bellwood to hold the Rams under 40?  This game is going to be blowout city.
No disrepect to BA, but LV is pretty good all around, they have not seen anything like this team in 2019

After Tuesday's school board vote, this is probably the last game played in Saltsburg.
