If kids can only be in school one or two days per week, I’m sure football could have survived without a vital scrimmage.

Thank you coachcarter. Now, were the teams adversely affected by losing that 2nd scrimmage?

You can still hold two scrimmages, just depends on the part of the state you are located. For instance, the WPIAL only requires its teams to play nine games beginning in week 1. The week 0 can either be a scrimmage or a non-conference game, it's up to the individual school. Locally I think all five District 5/6 leagues have the teams scheduled with 10 game regular seasons. (on normal years).

CC and Westmont, 30 plays on O and D each. Pretty even. CC scored once, Westy no scores.
