National Signing Day

Post by CoffinCorner »

NSD comes and goes, not a single comment. Was Marshall from Richland and the Blairsville qb going to IUPthe only local signings.

I did read last week, some D2 schools, Slippery Rock in particular stopped recruiting altogether for a time. Some seniors from this past year were able to stay on for next year, thus leaving limited space for the 2021 recruiting class. Eventually with some transfers and some seniors changing their minds, SRU was able to bring in some players at the last minute.

I do wonder if there were similar problems at some other schools, where the recruiting budget etc. was just down and space was limited, but I'd imagine it played some role in recruiting across the country this season at the D2 and FCS levels.

Are there really that many seniors playing at the D II level wanting to spend a 5th year in college just to play football? Most of these guys are getting minimal athletic scholarship money, unlike FCS and FBS players.

Clarion, Edinboro and CalU are merging into one. Will they each continue to field football teams?

The answer is yes they are keeping their sports teams. From what I have read about situation, they are attempting to offer more online courses and share professors across the three schools. They also are to be downsize some of the administrative staffs at the three schools.

What about Damon Gripp? Where are all the Golden Eagles fans at, this seemed like a very talented young man who had good size and athletic ability to play next level.

What about Jude Gryzwinski at LV?

Or Ressler from Bedford?

Bair from Mccort?

Gripp would be outstanding at the D3 level. Juniata.
