Dealing the 2 sets of coaches is an interesting question. Anyone know how Williamsburg and JV handled it when they combined fairly close to the season?

The Tribune Democrat is reporting the birth of the United Valley football team. United and Blacklick Valley will co-op and play as United Valley. The team will compete as a member of the Heritage Conference. United will pay the head coach and two assistants while Blacklick Valley will employ two assistants. The team will play its home games on both school’s home fields.

Sounds like the conference shuffle will continue in earnest as WestPAC football will be down to 6 teams after the exits of Portage and Blacklick Valley.

Reform the Appalachian Conference with East/West Divisions?

Blacklick Valley and Conemaugh Valley school districts do not border (Central Cambria splits them). If you try and co-op with a non-bordering school you must first ask all districts you border. If they say no then you can apply with the non-bordering district. In this case I think BV and United talked and it was a great fit. I do not think BV and NC talked about a co-op. I think the United-BV co-op will make them AA.

I think the new team should be called the U.V. Rays. Who gets it?

These 2 should combine with Homer Center, move to the WPIAL, and play Ligonier again!

8-2 this year in regular season, so I’m sure they’re not complaining
