Exactly. There are other schools as well, Farrell, Wyomissing, Central Valley, all consistent contenders. I just don't understand why some are and some aren't ESPECIALLY Southern Columbia...

Southern Columbia routinely wins their PIAA appeals as well as football championships. See https://www.pennlive.com/sports/2020/01 ... -piaa.html for details.

Crimson's Ghost wrote: November 23rd, 2021, 1:05 pm Obviously AAA has some local interest with Central, and for my money it might be the best bracket out of the six. Central, Central Valley, and Wyomissing all seem like they could win the state title IMO. Neumann-Goretti has enough talent to make a case too.

I'd give the edge to Central Valley. Sean FitzSimmons is one of the most dominant D-Linemen in the state. He's going to Pitt next year.
AAA seems like the most competitive out of the 6 classes to me. Almost feel bad for Danville. What a meat grinder.

Privates don't play down. Those rules apply to them as well.

Cathedral Prep is playing up in football under the same rule as Aliquippa, same with BG boys BBall.
Maybe play down was a poor choice of words. What was meant if they are 1A they should be playing up a couple classes at least!

Wow. Good luck to the Dragons. Wonder what Central Valley or the WPIAL for that matter would say if the game was at Central.

If next year Central or whoever make it this far and they get the home game then I'm OK with it but if not then it's bs. I'd love if a state playoff game was In Tyrone if they make it that far again.
