Watched most of the first half and it was a total snooze fest. Nuemann score on a high snap over the punters head, punter ran the ball down and likely tore his ACL turning to pick the ball up. a bunch of picks in the first half. Tuned back in with 3ish minutes left in the 4th, teams traded interceptions around the 50 yard line. NG drovedown to the 1 and on 4th and goal I believe fumbled and Belle Vernon took over then fumbled on a run out of the endzone but luckily for them it was just after the whistle blew.

Seemed like a good but rather boring and kind of embarrassing game. The fact programs are competing for titles and cannot kick an extra point or a 15 yard field goal is laughable. All the talent in the world but ignoring some of the most basics because "we're better than everyone we play and don't need to kick".

No that's not a direct quote. It's just how some teams seem to function. They feel they're so good they can outscore anyone and just go for two points every time. My point is why wouldn't you utilize every tool or weapon possible?
I'm going to hard disagree that it was an embarrassing game. That play where the punter got hurt was one of the most freaky things I've ever seen. Otherwise, I thought the defenses were just outstanding.

Your point about kicking is spot on, however. It seems to be a common thing with charter/private schools but I wonder why. All of that elite talent and you kick punts 5 yards behind the los and are wholly incapable of kicking for points? I don't understand that at all.
I shouldn't have been that harsh. Just the amount of picks and lack of kicking game got me fired up. The punter injury wasn't that freaky. It's a non contact injury and those are usually the worst. They look harmless but do the most damage.

6A title game is a real close one.

St. Joe’s up 35-0 over Harrisburg at halftime.

Not a surprise when the team is made up of superior talent in the northeast.

Well this won’t work, since Aliquippa appealed last year and lost, but SCA wins their appeal. Kind of makes you wonder.
Actually Aliquippa won their appeal, they were initially going to be required to move up to 5A, which is strange as they were voluntarily playing 3A before they got bumped to 4A 3 years ago.

Not a surprise at all. They're ranked #22 in the nation and their only loss was to #7 St. Thomas Aquinas 48-37. After this week and some ranked teams going down.. they crack the top 20, perhaps as high as #15.

Just a shame they recruit insane amounts of talent that costs 25k+ a year for 5 titles in 7 years.

At least public schools won 4 of 6 titles this year.

Way back before there were 6 classes, Farrell, one of the smallest districts in the state, always played the highest class at the time, voluntarily, because the mindset was they wanted to be the best so they played the best. They did this for decades.

The one local TV station that I watch out of Harrisburg mentioned that HHS only had a roster of 30 players going into that game which, if accurate, would be rather impressive given their level of success in AAAAAA.

Unless you're thinking of another school, or you meant during the regular season, Farrell played single A. They finished second in 1990 and 2015. They won state titles in 1995, 1996, 2018 and 2019.

I believe Farrell used to play up in classification in basketball for years. I don't remember reading that about football though.

Re: Farrell, I did say way back when, pre-6 classes. Like back in the 60's, early 70's when there were only 3 classes. I went to UPJ with a Farrell footballer then. Always easier to play up in hoops than on the field.
