I guess USC and LSU didn't lose then. No question about it, all polls and coaches aside. the 2 best teams in the country are Oklahoma and USC. THat would make for the most exciting nat'l champ... game

I agree that you shouldn't be in the championship if you haven't won your conference, but the only snafu in that situation is most of the "big" conferences don't have each school play each other. Too many more variables become a factor when teams don't play each other.

For all things to be equal(if that is possible), each conference should have a playoff. IMO until all conferences implement some type of championship game then those games should not even be part of the BCS equation. Both OU and LSU had everything to lose and nothing to gain, towards the BCS, by playing in those championship games. They are exciting from a fans perspective, but does nothing but create more problems for the current inefficient system.
The easiest thing to do in sports is hustle.
