Scoring records- school individual

Post by Manfred »

The other thread about the 'choice' between team, and a person getting their 1K points, got me thinking, and maybe this has been discussed before, but what, and/ or who, has your school's scoring record(s)? The male record for FH, AFAIK, is 41 points, by Pete Poldiak, in the very first year of FH's existence, 1967. I'm interested in any other individual's accomplishments by any school. All contributions welcomed. Thanks.

I believe Len Chapell has all of portage scoring records. I only know of 2 other players scoring 40 in a game. Jade Zatek in 2008 dropped 40+ and Kaden Claar had 40 this year against Berlin.

Elijah Sechler had 43 (Rockwood) and 44 ( Shade) last year and 41 (Turkeyfoot) in 2019. Nick Gooden had 48 (Chestnut Ridge 2018)

Though not my school, I think Joe Nastasi scored 61 for Northern Bedford. May have been a playoff game. Brother AJ had a high score of 53. I'm guessing both had multiple games over 50 points.

I was told once they had games with 80 shot attempts

Though possible I would be very skeptical of that claim. Isn't a game 32 minutes long? So they are shooting the ball almost 3 times per minute. Did the other team even touch the ball or any of their teammates? They were both talented basketball players.

OK, I'd forgotten that. I was reminded about Poldiak, a couple of times, by him, lol.
