Recent statements made by Dr. Robert Lombardi (PIAA Executive Director) regarding Aliquippa and Butler lead me to believe that his thinking is antiquated. Not only that, but his words can be read as hostile and aggressive in defense of the "old ways." He was promoted from within the PIAA, and he's been employed by them since 1988.

Coupled with the fact that the PIAA is vehemently opposed to opening their books in accordance with the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act is very suspicious.

Former Executive Director Brad Cashman brought in District 12 between 2003 and 2006. That move has been disastrous.

Last non open enrollment school to win 1A? JV in 1996. We came close. With how many fight each other for top spot, the success formula won't help the issue. One moves up, but that doesn't fix the system. It's just sad.

You think its bad now wait until we have a republican gov/legislature and "school choice" funding gets signed into law. Parochials will be fully flush with cash and new "private" schools will start to pop up around the state.
