The athletes don’t generate the money. It’s the people that go to the games, buy the products, and watch on tv that generates the money. If we would quit watching and buying it wouldn’t matter what athletes are out there, they wouldn’t be making the kind of money they do now.

I'm doing my part. I don't watch or attend any pro "sports" other than the 3rd pd. of some Penguin games. Just to see how they gave games away that night. You're right, cut off the income flow and the product dies. Too many pro sports junkies for that to happen.

Sorry. I was being an adult trying to have a serious conversation. I forgot that Trumpers are incapable of separating politics from any aspect of their personality.

It is a serious question though. You say athletes don't deserve the money. You add that if interest dropped, so would the cash supply. That certainly is true but purely hypothetical because it's not happening anytime soon. So whete do you honestly thing the money should go if not to the athletes (who are getting only about half the revenue anyway)?

When did this forum turn into a place of discussion for macro-economics?

There is a basic law in economics in a capitalist marketplace that each of you should familiarize yourself with.

A person's pay is directly proportional to how hard he is to replace at the time of payment. Why did Shaq get paid all of that money in his career? Because there were very few people on this planet who were 7 feet tall, 320 lbs and could dunk a basketball.

I love the reaction on here anytime someone suggests cutting the ridiculous amount of publicly funded fat at the school district level in Western PA.

PA should have county school districts. Most western PA counties could get by with 3-5 high schools...Instead they complain that they can't afford a shot clock...

Why even have high school athletics if your schools can't fit a shot clock into their budgets? Good gravy...
