The girls basketball here locally can stack up pretty well with any part of the state. There is a reason Bellwood, Berlin, BG, Bishop McCort, Homer Center, Juniata Valley, North Star, River Valley, Marion Center, and Westmont have all made it to Hershey in the past 10 years.

I think the Heritage is highly competitive and the LHAC obviously is too.

In Single-A, BG is probably expected to win the state title.
In AA, Berlin, McCort, and Penns Manor are all capable of going pretty far.
In AAA, River Valley has arguably the best player in the tournament. And CC found a way to beat them. Both teams could go far.
AAAA, I think Forest Hills can win a game at least, but 4A seems to be a minefield like usual.
I think both Hollidaysburg and Altoona can probably hang with most teams.

11 teams from District 6 advanced in the first round out of a possible 14. Again, I think that speaks to the quality of basketball here and how it stacks up everywhere. Also, Northern Bedford won in A, and not surprisingly Berlin also moved in AA out of D5.

In A, I expect Bishop Guilfoyle and Bishop Carroll to keep rolling. Williamsburg beat an undefeated WPIAL champ Union team in the first round, so I think they might be fine against 9-2 Otto-Eldred.

In AA, I still like the chances for McCort, Penns Manor and Berlin. They all have tougher games than what they saw in the first round, especially Berlin with 3-1 York Catholic, but Prosser will probably be the best player on the floor in most games she plays. McCort and Penns Manor both get WPIAL teams in WPIAL gyms, so we’ll see.

In AAA, River Valley does get the tough assignment of playing the D3 champ, Trinity in the second round, but again Ava Persichetti will be the best player on the floor. Central Cambria is hot right now, so I think they’ll at least be competitive or win its game.

In AAAA, Forest Hills gets a Philadelphia Catholic League team in round two with a long bus ride to Harrisburg, so that’s always a tough draw.

In AAAAA, Hollidaysburg gets D3 champ York Suburban on Wednesday night, which again, should be tough. In the higher classifications D3 always seems ultra competitive.

In AAAAAA, Altoona gets 1-2 Garnet Valley. Altoona has a 20-game win streak going and played a tough Mid-Penn schedule, so they seem battle tested for it.

Crazy that McCort is playing a 3 seed and has to play that far from home

1, 4, 5 are on Wednesday. 2, 3, 6 are on Tuesday. I think he mistakenly used the days of the week from the last round.

D6 1A is just redoing the District Playoffs. All 4 D6 teams make the Elite 8 and will battle for who represents the West. Impressive
