Write ups from Knops ...

In the write up about the Friday night Semi's, he says this ...

Chestnut Ridge’s Duane Knisely had perhaps the most controversial loss of the night. He led Wilson Area’s Kolby Flank 1-0 in the third period but was called for grabbing Flank’s headgear to tie the match. In the sudden-victory period, Flank was awarded a questionable takedown that gave him a 3-1 victory. Stills taken from video appeared to show both wrestlers out of bounds before the points were awarded.

... were you there? Did you see it? Can you elaborate?

I was there...it shouldn’t even had went to overtime. The penalty for grabbing the headgear was bad. I was sitting pretty close and never saw a grab of the headgear. There were only a hand full of seconds left in the 3rd and Knisely was leading 1-0, the kid was in deep on a single at the edge of the mat, Knisely was trying to pull his leg away while shoving the kids head. They went out of bounds and the Ref signals the penalty point. I personally didn’t see any grabbing of the headgear. The overtime “takedown”...the photo, taken at the moment of the called “takedown”, speaks for itself...one wrestler is completely out of bounds, and Knisely has his hands and knees (4 supporting points) also out of bounds. Bad calls all around.

Thanks for the report, SF96 ... that hurts.

What's next for Knisely ... might he wrestle some post-season tournaments? ... find a college to wrestle for next year?

For Knisely, he is getting college (D1) looks for discus.

Pretty sure I heard he’s got some big D1 schools offering him for throwing events for track.

He’s such a freak athlete he could probably have his pick at any of the 3 sports: Football, Wrestling or track...heck if he played baseball he’d probably get offered for that too! 🤣
