Let the kids wrestle. Also let the opponents have a half dozen or so girls on their rosters, as BMCHS STILL has a rule preventing them from competing against females. Problem solved. Those girls will never even have to 'suit up' , just be on the rosters and show up against BMCHS.

This all came about because of the last several years and with the wrestling dept. of BMCHS, not really because of other sports programs within those sacred hallowed halls of religion and superior education. Although in years past, almost all the other sports programs, male and female, have been guilty of infractions that were 'glossed over'. In this case, I feel the other programs -maybe- should be given a pass. They now have seen what COULD happen if they do something similar. This should put an end to the shenanigans out of Osborne St. BTW, Dave Marko, Central wrestling coach, nailed it with his assessment today.

Bassett, who is a teacher in the Greater Johnstown School District, said he had no desire to coach at the high school level.

The above appeared in the Tribune Democrat after the current Bishop McCort coach was fired as junior high coach at Forest Hills.

Perhaps Bishop McCort should have hired someone else?

Bassett was asked to resign because the superintendent found out about the recruitment of wrestlers and students who were living outside the district, but attending FH. The district did not think a state wrestling title was worth the storm that would be heaped upon the district for these illegal actions. Suddenly, after that the racist allegations popped up. Now he can resign in indignation rather than because of his own actions. He quickly went to the one place where this kind of recruitment is accepted. Now those students who didn’t move to FH can claim their legal farmstead address and just accept the new scholarships that have been freed up. Only a true megalomaniac would scorch the earth so badly due to someone telling him that he couldn’t have his way.

Tell me. Why do you fire a coach who just had an undefeated season, in any sport? All coaches at FH are reviewed at the end of the school year, and are asked if they are going to return. During the jr high wrestling interview, questions arose and the board recommended that the position in question was to be re-opened. Anyone interested could apply.
