If you really want to change behavior at the TD, why not just simply contact them directly? Incessant rantings on a message board certainly won't accomplish anything. Please make it a letter to the editor so we can all enjoy the show.

Who's ranting? Just making my point, that' all. Got to get the public informed first. Too bad the TD has everyone on here snookered, and most can't see that there is definitely a bias toward some schools and programs.

I think everyone on this site can certainly see a bias in many of your own posts against one school in particular.

According to my online thesaurus, the following are synonyms for the word "wallops": strikes, batters, pounds, raps, smacks, slaps, pummels, hammers, thrashes, bangs, drubs, bashes, clobbers, clouts, socks, slugs, whacks, and sticks it on. I suggest you use one of these words in tomorrow's Sunday sports section headlines to describe Ohio State's 106-74 win over Penn State today. Thank you.
P. B6 of the Trib-Dem sports: No.6 Ohio St. CRUISES past Penn St. 106-74. So there is at least ONE more synonym for wallops.
It ain't over until it's over.

Bias has nothing to do with disliking or favoring a team. That happens in all sports. Is everyone who roots for Alabama biased against those from Auburn? No. Bias is a PREJUDICE against or in favor of a thing, person or group compared to another, usually in a way considered unfair. Sort of like what the media is doing to President Trump. In our local news (newspaper and TV) there is a definite favoritism for PSU, and a downplaying of Pitt, when it comes to sports coverage. Manfred just gave a great example of it. Ohio State's blowout of Penn State was found buried on page 6 of today's Sunday sports section. Headline read "No. 6 Ohio State Cruises Past Penn State". Seems rather tame considering the 32 point drubbing by the Buckeyes. Maybe no one at the Tribune can spell SLAUGHTERS.

I would like to thank channel 6 and channel 8 in Johnstown for their TV news/sports coverage last (Sunday) night and this (Monday) morning. Forget about your average TV sports news from Sunday. Without their coverage, we would have never seen film of 1) Mike Gesicki catching a TD pass against the Patriots, 2) Trace McSorley taking the opening snap for the Ravens against the Steelers, 3) Saquon Barkley (who did NOTHING on the field this year) race for 68 yards against the Eagles, and 4) PSU men's basketball team beating up on Cornell, which currently has a record of 1-10. I'm sure the viewing area is grateful for these highlights.

As far as television goes, the market is Johnstown-Altoona-State College. That means even though the station is physically located in Johnstown, the ratings for WJAC ( and for WTAJ and WWCP) include those areas. They are naturally going to cover Penn State since it is ACTUALLY IN THE MARKET. Pittsburgh you'll notice is not in this market. WTAE, KDKA, and WPXI will tend to cover Pitt since that school is in the market where their advertising rates are determined. Seems the problem isn't the stations coverage as much as it is you live in the wrong market for your allegiances.

Irregardless, it still proves the bias for PSU and against Pitt in the local Johnstown TV market (which happens to have a University of Pittsburgh branch campus). And the Tribune is NO better. Are THEY the Johnstown-Altoona-State College market too? If the TV market covers all three towns, why aren't they covered equally? Favoritism is obvious. Too bad YOU can't see what others are seeing.
