I think they'll pick up a few more commitments on junior day. This class couldn't have gotten off to a better start.

From what I understand, as of right now, PSU has 82 scholarships. They can give out a total of 85 next year. They have 9 players with senior eligibility for 2015. That means they will have only 12 scholarships to give out in 2016, unless some underclassmen leave. Their picks better be good ones.

As someone that follows Pitt closely, It's not uncommon to see players leave early, transfer, quit, get kicked off the team ect.. A college football team may go into the season with 12 seniors, but they routinely recruit more than 12 players because 9,999 times out of 10,000 you're going to have more than 12 spots open by the end of the season.

There are several members of the team who will earn their degrees this year and will more than likely look to transfer after the season because they're starting to fall on the depth chart.

Right now I count 13 senior eligible players including the Stanford OL transfer.

And with them at 82 , add the 3 to 85 and your at 16, there's always someone leaving the program and or declaring for draft which gets you to upper teens to low twenties depending on that total.

I was reading that after Penn State's 2015 class they still had three available scholarships they didn't use. One was given to the graduate transfer OL from Stanford, which still leaves them with two more in the hole to either give to existing walk on's or do with as they please with other non-committed players yet.
