They could spend a few $$ to upgrade the refrigeration systems and then have no problems. They build ice rinks in Dubai & Saudi Arabia, etc. so geography isn't an issue.

Hearing 3 games per day at each rink. Doubling down on my ice quality issue after that. I don’t think climate is the concern as the number of skates on that ice. Day 1 may not be an issue but day 12 sure as heck will be.

Yeah ice quality going to be a major concern. I almost feel like they should spread the first 2 rounds out through 3 or 4 cities.

Not a hockey expert, but between all of the youth leagues, high schools, travel teams, clubs, college teams, junior teams, pros, etc.. aren't most ice surfaces used all day? I would think rinks are equipped to handle high-volume usage.

Most if not all major rinks also have more than 1 zamboni ice prepper.

I think they mean the rinks being used all day in addition to the summer weather.

Most public rinks are used all day but I can’t imagine PPG Paints or whatever it is now is letting games be played on there before the pens go out.
