PIAA State Meet "AA"

Looking at the performance lists it appears that Tyrone's Erika Voyzey has an outstanding chance to repeat at the HJ state champ. Who are the others with a shot at a state title? From this perspective it appears that Saltsburg's Kia Clayton is in a pack in the TJ and could go anywhere from low medal to State champ. In the throws Hickory from District 10 has the top seeds in the Shot, Discus, and Javelin and it's 3 different girls! BC's Brittany Krug is the top seeded local at 5th in the Javelin. District 5's only medal shots in girls might be in the throws, Fleegle (Berlin) and Finnegan (CR) each have a shot at stepping onto the medal stand.
In the running events it appears as though their could be a handful of area medalists but nothing looks like a solid state championship possibility on the track.
Turning to the boys, and starting on the track, Bedford's Will Kachman appears to be the only legit shot at a Gold medal from the area. To do so he'll have to outrun a pair of WPIAL distance aces who have hit 9:30 and below and last years State Champ Dominic Hockenbury from Lake Lehman.
As in the Girls meet, the best shot at BoysGold lays in the field events. Chris Stone of Springfield is probably the favorite in 3 of the 4 field events he's entered in and what a wild combination it is! Stone will be the top seed in the Pole Vault and High Jump, the #2 seed in the Long Jump, and is back in the pack somewhat in the Javelin. Speaking of Javelin, Williamsburg's Mike Biddle looks like the best shot at bringing home PIAA Gold but Tom Peppernick (Fannett-Metal) is less than a foot behind the top seed in the Discus and is undoubtedly District 5's best Gold medal shot. Defending State Champ Kobren Frederick (Huntingdon) in the Triple Jump looks to be a co-favorite this year with New Brighton's Anthony Milner and Chestnut Ridge's Jacob Miksich looks like a solid medal contender if he can duplicate his D5 effort.
Feel free to chime in with any thoughts and any sleepers or local athletes that I may have missed.
