XC State Championships
XC State Championships
It was a good day for District 6 at the Cross Country State Championships today at Hershey.
In girls Class A, Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy won gold with freshman Sera Mazza winning individual silver and senior Lucia Person placing 5th. Defending state champs Central Cambria took silver. It was the first state championship of any kind for Saint Joseph's.
In girls Class AAA State College placed 5th.
In boys Class A, Penns Valley placed 10th while Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy placed 13th.
In boys Class AA, Central Cambria placed 13th with senior Bryce Descavish winning individual gold.
In boys Class AAA, State College placed 9th.

Can you explain the scoring? It looks like the Descavish boy finished 6th in the race when looking at the individual results but when listed under team scoring it shows him first. Is this a misprint or is there a different way of scoring it? Thanks.

Yeah, that was my bad. He was the first across the line from those schools that were competing for the team championship. There were other individual runners there that qualified on time alone. It is still one heck of an accomplishment.
