You can cut tackle with proper form..you can get hurt tackling anyway, its all about form. If you keep your head up you will be fine. Your coaches must have never played football with a person that is actually twice thier size. Try to find a 140 pound defensive back in the lhac that can form tackle mike cruz..it wont happen

I don't know about in football, but in hockey, they preach playing "heads up" just like realfootball was talking about. If you're sliding into the boards and your head is down you are more likely to injure yourself. If you keep your head up to where the faceshield is hitting it might hurt, but you are a lot less likely to be injured because the neck is supposed to bend back
The Flyers are just like the Titanic. They both look good until they hit the ice

Agree with username6...football isnt checkers/chess/solitare...its a physical sport and injuries are going to happen, the down side to athletics. But with proper coaching and training, most injuries can be avoided. Now i personally believe that an open-field tackle is the hardest play to make in football. Whatever the player can do to make a tackle...go for it...but not by spearing someone!! Give a solid hi in the mid-section (center of gravity) and then wrap!! The second is more important than the first. Hold on untill another one of your teamates can come and help you out. Now i believe username is still sore from week one where he tried to hurdle the bedford tacklers. One of those broken tackles could have won mccort that game and an undefeated regular season (although that game gave them plenty of fuel and knowledge to make the run they did)

To end my rambling...play clean, safe, and physical.

I am not a fan of cut tackling, while you may make the play the chance of getting wiffing on a cut tackle or getting hurdeled is pretty solid. But hey if you get a guy down that good.

No..if you do it correctly the running back wont have time to make a move or hurdle you..lineman wont understand how it works..

Cool..call Jones up and well race..haha

Jones is a standout and i do know of other linemen that are very quick (shippey)

I was just stating that most lineman wouldnt understand how a true cut tackle works..they just arent taught it..just as I may not understand how they do somethings they do.

dude, get a clue.

Cut tackling, though it is unconventional, and though i do not approve of it, it is still a technique. BUT it isnt some hidden trick that no one knows. Any idiot can cut tackle.

And the lineman thing, now you just getting ignorant. Cut Blocking is as much of an art as cut tackling. I bet i know a few lineman faster than some safties, i will tell you that much.

Username, I was explaning that cut tackling wasnt that hard to your boy 67. I said lineman wouldnt understand not because they are any less of athletes but that it is a different position and different techniques..I never said it was hard.
