Here is a fact: a blair county 'A' football coach sent game film of two players to several D2 and D3 colleges in 2011. These 2 players are currently playing D3 football. There were 2 college coaches returned emails to the high school coach in late 2011 that read:"these players did not play against the type of competition we are looking for".So yes;there is a difference in which size school an athlete attends and/or the level of competition you face. :-o

I have a better idea: If the private schools think they're so great, then why not play against the best???

If some of those private schools think they're so great, they should VOLUNTARILY PLAY UP AT LEAST ONE CLASS, or preferably for all the marbles in Quad A.

Farrell did it for years in basketball, a A or AA school playing in AAAA. Aliquippa has done played up in football and hoops. New Castle was AAA and played up in AAAA in basketball for years (they are in AAAA now, barely).

C'mon, BG, McCort, et al. Why are you scared? Play in AAAA.

The as I know it might come to an end because the Titan and I agree on something. The private schools should be required to play at the level of the size of the school a kid transfers in from. For example. If BG, BM, or BC can prove that all of their kids live in the Altoona, Johnstown, or Central Cambria school limts then they can stay at the A Level. However, if someone tranfers into any of these schools from Martinsburg and do not move into that area then their staus should go up to Central's level which is AA. Very simple, that way everybody plays on equal footing.

D6 guy, when you say nobody has moved into BG's program in the last 15 years, you do mean football, correct? Because I can guarantee you can't say the same thing about the girl's basketball program because I know that program does talk to other people to get them to come to their school.

I think if you want to make Catholic schools account for kids that don't go to their school, Public schools should in fact do the same.

Johnstown's enrollment should include any and all kids that live within in their District, whether or not the kids physically attend the school.

Seems fair to me.

And again, people are delusional that think the every day Catholic High School can compete at a AAAA level.

Because they wouldn't be able to compete. Simple, a man of your intelligence should know that.

I am happy for the kids at BG. They worked hard in the off season and they had a few kids join who havent played or played in a while. They believe in themselves and that's what matters. They have one goal in mind and they keep fighting each week to get closer to that goal. I think its kind of cool its like they are the island of misfit toys and they are 5-1!

Sorry I guess after I read my last post it sounded as though I was putting the boys down by saying "the island of misfit toys" . I meant that they scrapped up players from other sports to come out and play this year. Some of these kids do not have that much experience that is why I think it is cool they are doing so well.

It's very simple, come playoff time all the private schools should be put in 2 classes. Small school private and large school. Have 6 state champions or 5 if you want to make 3 divisions after you pull all the private schools out of the public playoffs. Then everyone is playing on the same field.
