Pitt at FIU Open Thread
High Noon on FS1. FIU is a member of Conference USA, but could very well be one of the 2-3 worst teams out of the 125 FBS teams. They dropped their opener to Bethune-Cookman and beat Wagner last week, the same Wagner that plays St. Francis and Duquesne. Pitt employs the third ranked rushing attack in the country, with James Conner being the #2 rusher in the nation through two games.
You would think Pitt should have their way with this one, but could be looking ahead to Iowa.
Let's hear it.

Re: Pitt at FIU Open Thread
I'd like to see Conner done before halftime. Get him a little work, say 12 touches, and have him ready for Iowa. I'm hoping to see a lot of Chris James, Ibrahim, and Bennett.
Re: Pitt at FIU Open Thread
According to the Sagarin rankings as of Sunday Sept 6, FIU is ranked 137. There are 18 Division I-A teams ranked LOWER than them. Some of these are SMU, Tulsa, Tulane, Kent, and Southern Mississippi. Vanderbilt is ranked 132, just in front of FIU. Purdue is behind them at 167. The lowest I-A team in the nation is Massachusetts at 213.

This one will get ugly early...Pitt cruises.
You play to win the game!!!
Re: Pitt at FIU Open Thread
Pitt will just beat FIU up. Plain and simple. Conner will 8 and 9 yard them in to submission. I cannot imagine a scenario (unless Pitt turns it over 5 or 6 times which is highly unlikely) that the Panther don't roll. It will set up a nice early season match-up against Iowa at Heinz Field next week. If I'm a Pitt fan the only concern I have regarding this game is coming out of it without any major injuries.

Pitt should be fine, but they lost their starting Center in the Boston College game for the year. Artie Rowell suffered an ACL tear in that game, and that's a big blow. He started 13 games last season as a sophomore, but he should be able to get a medical redshirt.

Not that prettiest of wins, but it was a win. Conner had another big day minus the fumbles. Really excited Pitt has a mobile QB, Voytik made some big plays with his legs.
Outscored FIU 42-9 after being down 16. Would have liked to see them do that all day long, but it happens.
Big one with Iowa next week

Wasn't beautiful, but I can't say much with WVU trying hard to hand a game to the Big15 or whatever they are now. Jim are you as disappointed as I that the Brawl is probably forever gone?
Re: Pitt at FIU Open Thread
I was hoping for an Iowa win to set up a bigger game next week, but oh well. I'm hoping Pitt takes two of the next three (Iowa, Akron, @UVA) and heads into the V Tech game 5-1.
