Just a little update on the comparison since someone brought it up again....

Austin Myers - 244 Carries 1146 Yards 4.7 YPC 163.7 YPG 10 TD's

Caleb Kephart - 74 Carries 1287 Yards 17.4 YPC 183.9 YPG 22 TD's

If Kephart had 244 carries he would have 4245 yards this season.

That's probably the game plan of teams that play Portage and many other teams. Stop their main running back.
That doesn't work so well against all teams does it?

Yeah. True. But after looking at their stats, it doesn't look like there's much of a passing game, or other threat to run. Portage has 2 running backs plus a good QB. I haven't seen CT this year, but it looks like they are as 1 dimentional as it gets.

That's correct on Maxpreps. In fact, most of the WPIAL does not use it.

And to go off on my quick soapbox, I don't understand why any high school in America wouldn't use Maxpreps or Hudl. Two great websites that makes life easier on coaches.

There was a kid for Lancaster Catholic who had 53 carries for 410 yards in just one game last week. That's real nutty.
