Week Six District Six Class AA Power Rankings
1. Ligonier Valley 6-0 Defeated West Shamokin 60-6 Next up: Homer Center Last Week - #1
Ligonier had another easy win, as they took down conference newcomer West Shamokin by 54 points. The Rams have been far and away the most dominant team in the Heritage Conference, and they probably see their toughest test to date on Friday. Homer Center is undefeated, and though they haven't been as dominant as Ligonier, they still are 6-0. Should be a tough test for Collin Smith and company, but one they are expected to win.
2. Bishop McCort 5-1 Defeated Richland 48-6 Next up: @ Westmont Last Week - #2
Another week, another lopsided victory for the Crushers. McCort overcame a slow start, and got it rolling in the second half to beat Richland 48-6. McCort has been very impressive in the past three weeks, but should see a real tough test with Westmont on Saturday. Westmont beat McCort in overtime last season, and another close game is expected on Saturday.
3. Bellwood-Antis 5-1 Defeated Williamsburg 34-6 Next up: @ West Branch Last Week - #3
Bellwood handled a pretty good Williamsburg team by 4 touchdowns last week. The Blue Devils got another solid showing from senior quarterback, Jarrett Tanneyhill. He is now up to 1,188 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. John Hayes' team has to stay on task this week with West Branch, because the showdown with Mt. Union is looming next week.
4. Mount Union 5-1 Defeated Glendale 38-6 Next up: @ Everett Last Week - #4
Mt. Union had another solid victory last week, and now sit at 5-1 on the year. Much like Bellwood has to do, the Trojans need to focus this week and not overlook their opponent. Everett can be a tricky matchup, and Mt. Union will need to be ready to play.
5. Westmont 3-3 Defeated Bedford 21-16 Next up: Bishop McCort Last Week - #5
Westmont scored a gigantic road victory over Bedford last week. It's no secret, this game against McCort on Saturday is huge. Looking at Westmont's remaining schedule, it's their toughest test by far. The Hilltoppers are a dangerous 3-3 team and a win over a good McCort team would be quite the statement.
