Athletic transfers draws concerns

Post by Rumorman78 »

In today's Altoona Mirror, there is a front page story, in which Claysburg parents, went to last nights Claysburg Kimmel's school board meeting, to complain about CK students who live in the district, but attend Chestnut Ridge for sports. They were also upset, that 2 girls who live in Hollidaysburg, but that attend CK, to play softball, because of CK Girls softball success. Also mentioned in the article were the problems Bedford was having , with the same situation in the Bedford S.d.
I do not know how to link you to the article. If interested in reading it ,go to Altoona Mirror web site and click under news ,they allow you to read 6 articles without subscribing.

Parent involvement, elite athletes, or those who think they are 👀

I'm guessing there's ones with PIAA knowledge doing this in a sly manner that will allow the situation(s) to float by without recourse. Knowledgeable people know how to circumvent the rules; and this results in unfortunate situation(s) for those who like to abide by and follow the letter of the law and its intent.

Am I reading that 5th and 6th grade parents are getting fake addresses for their kids? LOL. How do you know if they will be 'elite' until puberty sets in? I've seen hundreds of these elementary superstars be caught up to in HS, or even before. Now parents are stuck with their fake address, and the home school that you burnt bridges with.

Some younger than 5th grade and also a few out of staters who are supposedly living with coaches at Fishertown University. Must be some good NIL deals….

Enough is enough: Fishertown Academy now has wrestlers from 4-5 different districts, kids from out of state living with the coaches, world level girls from Virginia move in across the street and now a loop hole with some Christian school in Bedford.

We keep hearing the District 5 chair is scared of them and said their district basically runs D5. He knows it’s happening and has been for a while but won’t do a thing.

When is Bedford county going to take a stand.

It must be a slow news day that's all I'm gonna say

So theirs our tax dollars hard at work. Maybe they should spend it on the actual programs that work hard and put in the time instead of writing articles. CR has a great junior high program with number one coaches who push them to work hard and then go to one of the best varsity teams in the state. Same for the girls program but it doese not mean they moved there for sports.
.
Put in the work and let the big dogs eat and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.

And 'theirs' the smartest guy in the CR Jr. High wrestling room, rearing his little head again. How, or who, did the rankings for Megadeath to be voted 'number one' coach? I heard he drives the team bus, and does stats?
