Being able to recruit the entire Altoona area and having the ability to reload every year should be all the success points they needCCDevil2012 wrote: ↑February 1st, 2024, 11:02 amTugged strings or just showed they didn’t have enough success points? Lol

Again, if they’re not having success, and there are no transfers, then they are going down. Unless you know of a player that transferred that the PIAA is unaware ofLVluverMikeT wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2024, 8:32 amBeing able to recruit the entire Altoona area and having the ability to reload every year should be all the success points they needCCDevil2012 wrote: ↑February 1st, 2024, 11:02 amTugged strings or just showed they didn’t have enough success points? Which is why the success formula does not work for private schools. The ups and downs of non public schools are much faster. Look no further than basketball at 1A. One moves up and the next powerhouse moves in...Kennedy, Sankofa, Imani...Kennedy won 1A, then 6A, and this year almost didn't have a season with a current record of 3-8. That's only over a 6 year span.

Re: Altoona University
What about Mccort and Carroll. If BG is successful because they are able to recruit, shouldn't a coop from 2 private schools that covers two full counties be dominant in football? Not sure anyone would call the McCarroll football team dominant.
Re: Altoona University
It's not recruiting. It's the lack of a border. Allowing for them to do what cannot be done as easily at a border school. Less requirement to physically move.
Both of those programs are down from the 2000-2010 era where this would've been a big issue. Non border schools hang out at the extremes. Either extremely good or extremely bad, on average. 1A boys basketball hasn't been won by a public school since Juniata Valley in 96-97. Again, the extremes. It's more prevalent in basketball because you only need a couple kids. Happens every year and won't stop. Lombardi isn't going to change any of it either.

Glenn Mills was closed by the state in 2019 over abuse allegations. I know they were trying to reopen under a new name a couple years ago. Not sure if that happened. Glenn mills recruited a Wrestler from SCI Pine Grove in the late 2000s. When he paroled he went there. He lasted maybe 3 months when he violated and was sent back. The violation was he ran away due to abuse. (That came directly from him to me).Manfred wrote: ↑February 7th, 2024, 9:32 amSo true.
