Anyone have opinions on teams they have seen before the first of the year? Tyrone took it to the Rangers in their scrimmage a month ago, yet FH is now 9-0 and ranked #1 in Pa. 3A according to Max Preps. Cone. Twp. has an impressive team with real nice heighth incl. a 6'8" soph. The J'town Trojans are loaded too, ranked #2 in 5A. CC is ready for a deep run. On the Ladies' side, the Lady Pirates of Williamsburg looked good against FH. FH is having an "off' year so far, w/ only 1 Sr. Lady Trojans will have a successful year I think. Westy is good again. BG should be loaded again. H'burg too. Others?

LHAC looks filthy loaded. It's going to be fun to watch play out. What intrigues me with Tyrone is their depth. They go 10 or more deep and any can be "the guy" from night to night. Not sure they've had the same leading scorer in any of their 5 games

Ignore the name, I work in Somerset so I have to hear the latest, but Somerset boys basketball is the real deal. Coaching has put them over the top. The AD over there is just cooking with these picks for coaching boys teams. Pretty amazing for a school of their size, assuming he goes to Seven Springs to hang out with Bob Nutting for advice.

You're kidding, right? FH had a running clock against them by halftime. But I admit 2 of their 3 Sr.'s were not playing that night. Maybe another game would be closer.

That was all strategy for the next match up. Teams burn all their good players early in the season. They're saving themselves....

I just want it to be known the pure neglect going on at Somerset because I'm tired of hearing about it.

LHAC seems pretty competitive at the top. Johnstown, Forest Hills, Tyrone, Holidaysburg, Bishop Guilfoyle Westmont, Central Cambria, Penn Cambria, and Central are all going to be pretty tough. Chestnut Ridge will win a fair share of games too.

I wouldn't say the LHAC is strong throughout the 22 team league, though.


Seems like there will be 5-6 teams that might struggle to find five wins.

But a lot of the good teams in the league are D6 AAA. BG, Forest Hills, Westmont, CC, PC, Tyrone should make for good playoff games and making the state tournament won't be easy.

That's 9 really good teams. Don't know many leagues with more lol.... plus there's several teams that will struggle to get to .500 that would do really well in other conferences

Anything to say about tomorrow nt.'s FH @ J'Tn game? Undefeated 3A vs undefeated 5A. Barnburner as they used to say.
