Penn State dumpster fire
How long will it take to fix this situation.
Every coach they were interested in has gone to another school or signed an extension.
2 commits
Franklin took 1/2 of the previous recruits to VT and most likely empties the roster in the transfer portal.
Best solution: Hire part of the staff, but not the highest paid coordinator in college football, the former Gateway coach whose name won't even come up as an option if a PSAC school was hiring.
if you are not a Penn State fan, 2025 was a great year.

With all the negativity that surrounds PSU football right now, and there's plenty. So many media morons grabbing at the low hanging fruit just to get clicks and likes...the best part is, PSU football still signed the same number of 4 star recruits yesterday as Pitt football!!!!
Someone needs to write an article about that! How is that even possible??? LOL
It's easier than ever to be a top 25 team in college football in this current landscape. Get a guy who can build the roster, open up the piggy bank and PSU will be a top 15 team within 2 seasons. Look at how many schools are currently in top 25 that as recent as 10 years ago would never sniff being nationally ranked. It's free agency every season, the question is how much each organization is willing to spend to assemble their roster for that year. Developing players is a thing of the past, if you have a hole in your lineup, just go find the best guy available to fill it and buy him.
The media loves this PSU situation right now because it gives them something to write about. I think PSU has the world's largest alumni base so there's plenty of people to read what the media writes.
One thing that is worth questioning, a guy told me this morning that PSU upper level administrators are going to now be involved in the coaching search going forward. So, that means they haven't been up to this point???? How is that possible that PSU is going to pay a guy $10M+ a year to coach their football team and the highest ranking officials at the organization aren't involved in the search or hiring process right out of the gate???

Re: Penn State dumpster fire
If they can balance things out between players they lose and bring in what they need. The 2 toughest games next year are USC and Michigan. Really with the way they finished and the schedule next year hire Terry Smith very manageable 1st year schedule to get his feet wet. Or any coach they hire not really a gauntlet to go through.
Re: Penn State dumpster fire
Never thought I see it. PSU is bragging about how their recruiting class is comparing to Pitt's.

You forgot to state that Pitt also signed an additional 19 players along with their 2 4 star recruits
Penn State
Whomever recorded & leaked the Kraft audio should go to jail. If it were done to hurt Kraft, I think it did the opposite. Turned out to be a pretty good hire and they kept Smith onboard, a win-win situation.
However, this ALL could of been done the week they fired Franklin almost 2 months ago!!!
