It's coming!
It's coming!
PIAA is on notice, as the state House passed legislation to separate the public schools from the "non boundary" schools. Now if the state Senate has any ballz, it will do the same. Comments?
It ain't over until it's over.

Re: It's coming!
Its about time. But, the bill ALLOWS the PIAA to have separate championships. It doesn't force them to. Do you really think they PIAA has the balls?

Re: It's coming!
If the Senate does back the House, then the PIAA should follow through with the separation. If they do not, then the public schools with have to grow a set and either take legal action against the PIAA or somehow legally break away from the corrupt organization and form their own authority.
Re: It's coming!
Ain’t gonna happen! If you saw PIAA Chairman Mark Beyers interview, he is concerned that due to the House “allowing” not “mandating” a separation of state playoffs it will open the PIAA to litigation!
Re: It's coming!
I agree that the PIAA will more than likely than do nothing. There are so many other states with separate playoff systems. Hopefully they take action.

I thought I'd leave this here as being relevant to the topic. I don't pretend to know all of the policies which regulate distribution of state funds to public vs private schools, but this is a humorous read. Tom Smith certainly sees things through rose colored glasses...or maybe they're crimson

As for the original topic...I'll believe it when I see it. I'm not holding my breath that anything changes anytime soon. I'd love to be wrong.

Hmmm! I wonder if Frank is a McCort graduate?
Re: It's coming!
That's a great thought, I hadn't gone there. A quick google search reveals....YES. Frank Burns is a Crimson Crusher class of '94.

Re: It's coming!
The last candidate to run against Frank Burns was.... Amy Bradley, which also shares the same last names of two teachers/coaches within the school... If anything this is just a political stunt to win over voters... I think Smith has a bigger pull on politics & funding then most people realize... Politics politics politics. A question regarding "boundary vs non-boundary" what about co-ops? What if a private co-ops with a public, but its the public school that hosts them? What about foreign exchange kids? In theory doesn't make public schools somewhat non-boundary too?

Moon Area just got some good transfers. Their boundary must be out of this world.
