Bedford vs. Bishop McCort
May as well get this one started. This game at Bedford will be huge in jockeying for position in the District 5-6AA playoffs, and could cost Bishop McCort home field for the first game. Bedford is very fast, and has quite a few playmakers, however McCort has Mike Sheridan and Josh Varga to counter. But in the battle of defenses, Bedford has the upper hand. To start this one off, I'll take Bedford by a touchdown.

after seeing the crushers beat jtown this week, i think this could very well come down to the last play of the game or even OT. mccort did an outstanding job at shutting down larod and the rest of the jtown rushing unit. and actually were pretty successful on the pass coverage as well...lets just hope the 3 or 4 runners that bedford has will be too much for the crushers to contain. i believe this could also be a battle of kickers as both Ford and Domonkos can hit from 50 yards and have both proven to be able to hold up under pressure (ford at west and cc, domonkos at jtown)

Re: Bedford vs. Bishop McCort
Go Bison!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is HUGE! Who knew that the play-offs started in week 8. All I know its finally nice to play Bishop McCort in Bedford again (last 4 years we have gone to Windber 2000 week 1, and the Point 2001, 2002 in the play-offs, and 2003, week 9). Bedford losing the last 3 match-ups should be inspiration enough, but the LHAC title is up for grabs. Now to the game...
Bedford has done nothing but impress week in and week out, starting to play complete games has become a trend for the '04 Bisons, which is definately a good thing. LaRod is a one man show, he has no complimentary backs in the backfield besides him. Troy Harris, however is not in that same situation. With brother Derek and cousin JA Marshall at RB and Mike Young at FB, how do you contain all 3? I have the answer, you can't. No matter what McCort does in this game I can not forsee them being able to completely shut down the Bison's attack. And another factor that might be a determinate in the outcome of this game, at least on offense, is Shane Fox at wide-reciever. He is catching the ball, running well after the catch for the all important YAC yardage, and finishing plays on the run, springing the key block on the corner for Troy, Derek, JA, to score the T.D. Bedford's defense has been one of the most dominant in the LHAC this year, shutting down FH when needed, coming up with the huge stops against CC to seal the win, and holding Kanuch to 16 yards on the ground. Sheridan and Vargas might find it hard to move the ball on the two ball-hawking LB's in Mike Young and Taylor Claar. I have yet to see BM play this year, but in years past, the would love to run right at you, and then try to beat you around the corner with great speed, on thing that they held over the Bison's for the longest time, but with Monroe Hickey and Troy Harris on the outside for the blue and white, speed will not be used and abused. The game comes down to weather the line steps up again, in the first round of the playoff's, and control the hog-maulies from BM. As usual, the game will be won upfront, and the game will be won by a stronger, quicker, and more physical Bedford front 5. This game is going to be a shoot-out, whoever can keep the number of turnovers to 1 or less, will win this game. Bedford is +4 this season in turnover ratio. Be at Bedford this Friday night, this kind of match-up is one that is not common this late in the regular season.

The kickers will have huge pull in this game. Both Kyler Ford and Domonkos have come up big with game winning fieldgoals. Even though Domonkos' kick against J-town was relative to a PAT. What was it only 21 yards? However, I foresee the possibility of each kicker limiting the number of kickoff returns for the opposing teams. I believe Ford put the ball in Heights' endzone about 5 times for touchbacks. Bedford moves to 8-0 off the foot of Kyler Ford's game winning fieldgoal 27-24.

Re: Bedford vs. Bishop McCort
I will put all picks up later this week like I did last week, BUT here is my basic speal on this one...
This is the most speed Bedford has had to face so far this season. They use their speed as good as anyone around here, BUT McCort has enough speed to contain the outside better than the other teams Bedford has faced. McCort will slow the run like they did against Jtown and Larod and force Troy to throw the football. I've been looking at things weekly and Harris is completing only around 25% of his passes so far this year. McCort makes the Bisons become more air oriented and they beat Bedford by a touchdown.

Only 25% of his passes? I thought that was a QB's job, to throw the ball well. If I were Coach Swaim (which I'm not) and this were the case, I'd have Troy as a running back/wide receiver, and have somebody that can throw the ball be QB.

McCort shutdown the run because jtown only has one main threat on the ground, LaRod, bedford on the other hand has the three headed dog of Harris, Harris, and Marshall, as well as the power man Mike Young. 4 guys is alot to contain for any team, i dont care who you are, these 4 alone could determine the outcome of the game.
