Re: Terrell Owens
Well, at this rate, neither the Steelers nor the Patriots would take him on if he's going to be like this. They're after team players, not me players. Those are 2 very legit Super Bowl contenders. In the NFC, there's only the Eagles and the Falcons. Maybe there's one or two teams in the AFC other than those two that could pull it, but if Owens leaves, chances are, he won't be playing for a Super Bowl winner. He should quite his whining and accept his contract. It leaves the Eagles more room to invest in quality players that can win them a Super Bowl, and they can't do that by paying it all to one guy. That's what the Colts are currently doing, and they're going to have to redo Manning's contract or release him in a couple years if they want to stay competitive.

once again, TO is a quality player with lots of experience and skill which there is no substitute for. He only likes to do different things on the field and attract more attention which in the end helps the team in sales. Anyhow, my bad that was moss. Anyhow i still loved it no matter who did it. I jsut love to see the steelers lose. Notice that all the steeler fans dont talk about their team until they have an outstanding year. I found out that some people i thought were other teams fans turned to a steeler fan in the middle of the seaon just to join the crowd. But, in the end it all worked out anyhow proving that all rookies choke in the playoffs and that the steelers most always choke in the playoffs as well. Well thats my 2 cents.

Re: Terrell Owens
Jerry Rice (aka Receiving God) said it best when he said TO deserves the restructuring but he is going about getting it the wrong way.
What TO did for the Eagles is simple - he helped them take that next step. He deserves some respect and the restructured contract, he just needs to shut up and act like a grown man and sit down with the management and explain to them why he deserves it.
On the other hand I can see where the Eagles would want to see him reproduce the success he had last season before rewarding him with a new deal, especially on his newly rebuilt ankle.

How did TO help the Eagles take that next step? He missed the playoffs until the Super Bowl. The Eagles had made the NFC title game without him 3 times. They made it to the Super Bowl without him in the line-up this year.
I would not renegotiate anything in his contract except add bonuses for his performance. Even those would eventually count against the salary cap, it would be it would be worth the risk to try to win a Super Bowl.

defender is right but i like to see TO do stuff like he does and it helps his team to make money. They should renegotiate his contract on how well he did in the super bowl even though he did have a broken ancle. He would have played a lot better if it hadnt been broken.

How could they be worse off? They've already proven they can get to NFC Championship without him.

They've already proven they could get to the Super Bowl without him, since he was injured for most of the playoffs until the Super Bowl arrived. However, Owens gives the Eagles a legitimate receiving threat, and made Donovan McNabb that much better. McNabb had career highs in passing yards and QB rating, and that wouldn't have happened without Terrell Owens for him to throw to. So even though the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl without him (mainly because the NFC stunk), the Eagles will need him around to make it to the Super Bowl when the NFC no longer stinks. Don't restructure his contract yet, but if he has a good year next year, then let negotiations begin. But still, the Eagles should be careful because he's already 32 or 33 years old, and he can't have THAT many good years left.
