Softball slow-pitch tournament is coming soon
“James E. Most Memorial Tournament”
(Formally Known as the)
Greater Scottdale Girls Softball Tournament.
Tournament Dates are as follows:
8 & 12 & under July 23rd & July 24 Th, 2005.
14 & 18 & under July 30 & July 31s, 2005.
16 &10 & under August 6th & August 7 Th, 2005.
The Tournament Will Be Played at Loucks Park & a few other local fields in Scottdale, Pa.
The Entrance Fee Will Be $125.00 each, & “No Balls”
An early paid entry Fee “BEFORE”, July 1st, 2005.will be $105.00 per team.
Trophies Will Be Awarded To The Following:
1ST Place Team: A Team Trophy & (15) INDIVIDUALS.
2nd Place Team: A Team Trophy & (15) Individuals.
3rd Place Team: A Team Trophy “OR”
In the event that six (6) or more teams are entered in each bracket, then we will award (15) more individual trophies to third
Place.

Dear Coaches & League Representatives:
The Greater Scottdale Girls Softball League invites you, & your teams, to our annual “SLOW PITCH” Tournament. The G.S.G.S.L. is pleased to announce that this year’s tournament will be played At (Loucks Park) & surrounding local fields in Scottdale’s newly renovated ball-parks.
After having great success in running last year’s tournaments, we have added two new age groups. The “8” year olds & the “10” year olds will compete on their scheduled dates.
We will run these tournament games in three different & consecutive weekends to complete all the ages.
(IF IT GETS UGLY)….
In the event that there are rain outs, we will finish the games on the following day.
(Time & field will be determined).
#1. (IF) your team “DID NOT” play that day, at all, because of rains, then you’ll have the option of coming back to play again, or your entry Fee $$$ will be refunded fully.
#2. (IF) during a rain storm, your team is playing, & you are past the half-way point in the game, there will be “NO REFUND” of your entry Fees.
#3. (IF) your team is under the half way point, of the game, & you don’t want to come back, you will be refunded ½ of your entry Fee.
The remaining teams who opt to come back & play will be crowned CHAMPIONS...
The Tournament dates will be held accordingly:
Saturday July 23rd, & Sunday, July 24th, 2005. The “8” & under, & the “12” & under, will start their age groups off.
Then on Saturday, July 30th & Sunday, July 31st, 2005. The “14” & under & the “10” & under age groups will do battled competition.
& finishing up the Slow-pitch series will be the “16 & under & the “10” & under age groups. This will take place on Saturday, August 6th, & Sunday, August 7th, 2005.
The Greater Scottdale Girls Softball League is “The James E. Most Tournament.”
The name has been revised to honor our friend & colleague who passed away, in a sudden death in October of 2000.
With your help, we would like to have at least (6) or more teams in each age group. (Besides the Scottdale entries). This tournament will be a (double~elimination) procedure, & A.S.A. rules will be applied.
The “8” & “12” & under age groups, will have their respected drawings on Wednesday, July 20th, 2005, at (Loucks Park Pavilion), at 7:30 p.m. (near the outfield fences).
The “14” & “18” & under will have their respected drawings on Wednesday, July 20th, 2005, at (Loucks Park Pavilion), at 7:30 p.m. (near the outfield fences).
The “10 & “16” & under will have their drawing date on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 at the (Loucks Park Pavilion), 7:30 p.m. (near the outfield fences).
The entry Fee of $125.00 must be received by post mail, or in person, at the time of the drawing date, & NO LATER. We cannot enter a team on a promise. An entry form & roster sheet should be enclosed with payment. Tournament rules & regulations will be available & discussed at the drawing date. (IF) for some reason, you can’t make it on the drawing date (in person). The G.S.G.S.L. will take the liberty of drawing for your team. Just as long as your pre-paid prior to the drawing.
Don’t forget: If you send in your entry Fee early, you will get a discount of $20.00 per team, & save your league $$$. Especially if your sending more than one team to each age group.
THIS IS A CLASS “B” TOURNAMENT AND “NO” TRAVELING TEAMS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER!!!
All teams must carry their own accident insurance; a copy of team’s policy must be accompanied with you, at game time. The Borough of Scottdale & the G.S.G.S.L. are “NOT” responsible for injuries, accidents, and or other property damages.
