St. Francis is unavailable. They have not officially announced the sites but I suspect the War Memorial will host at least some, if not all, of the games. IUP and Mount Aloysius are other possibilities. I would guess they will try to pick regional sites that make sense for the championships and consolations since SFU is unavailable.

I think the War Memorial comment is correct. The jr high state wrestling champs. had to be relocated in order for this to all happen.

I heard that the 6-AAAA boys championship will be played at none other than TYRONE HS...Now that's some venue to showcase AAAA!!!!!

If they play a district championship at Tyrone the whole D6 committee should be fired. What a joke they make of the basketball playoffs. Quick questions why is the 1 seed in AAA playing in State College when the 11 seed in A played in a gym 500 yards from it's school?

Great post! Has anyone seem Central Martinsburg play in person this year? Haven't seen much of them since they dropped out of the LHAC. They always seem to have a legitimate team with some shooters.

I hope the game is NOT at the War Memorial. I've never been to a basketball game there, but I would imagine you'd feel sort of far from the action. A place like the Hollidaysburg JH or Altoona Field House would be fine with me. I don't like when a place is so big that it makes it look like nobody is there is my feeling...

I agree that the Altoona Field House would be a perfect venue for the championships. A nice big court and plenty enough bleachers to accomodate all the fans. I have been to the state basketball championships for many years at the Giant Center and BJC and even though the court and surroundings are phenomonal the atmosphere is nothing close to what it is at small gyms. The place is so big with so many empty seats that it is impossible for it to get really loud. I would take a game at a regular high school gym with a packed house over that huge arena any day.
As for the AAAA championships being at Tyrone, what makes it even worse is that its not even at the high school. Its at the middle school!!! What a joke. I know they wanted a neutral site but come on...

Coach,Well from being at both games at the war memorial you would expect that it would be far from the action but with the NBA sized floor its not that bad. it was a good place to watch the games. and in the boys game when it got towards the end it was fairly loud as well. Don't know how the players felt about the games there but as a fan i was pleased.

Have not seen Central as well % new starters that are mostly underclassmen but Cafferty and Keller are good solid players. But McCort With Cruz and Boyd down low that makes it tough on any underclassmen. I look for the Central players to feel intimidated at first but it will turn into a rugged yet good game but ill take McCort by 9
