Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
BM has one of the highest graduation rates around as well as more money in scholarships (to go to college:roll: )each year. Im sure that LV kid didnt take that into consideration...
Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
So the LV kid wouldn't have graduated from LV???? And a typical college scholarship for a McCort kid after graduation is, for example, $6,000 to go to St. Francis. Sounds like alot, until you realize that it's $26,000 to go there. That leaves the kid's parents still with a bill of $20,000 per year for 4 or 5 years. That's almost another $100,000 AFTER the $20,000 spent at McCort. Might as well go to IUP or UPJ. If McCort kids are smart, they will be successful ANYWHERE they go, right??? ....and again, do you really think Salem didn't know why that LV kid transferred to McCort. He took a player from a small school for athletic reasons and I'm sure he knew it.

Since people apparently dont know this if you graduate from McCort,Carroll,or Guilfoyle with a 3.5 gpa or better you can go to the Mount, St.Vincents, or St.Francis for next to nothing so im sure that has alot to do with people transferring as well
Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
Yeah, I'm sure that's why they TRANSFER there. HA!!!

Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
wow bigman you dont even know waht your talking about answer me this where would you want your kid to go a school that put 95%+ of their graduates in college with a significant amount of financial aide every year or in a school thats not even close to that
Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
Do you remember me asking what advantage there is to giving non-Catholics discounts to attend MCCort and what McCort gets in return???? Then what advantage is it to St. Francis to give out alot of free educations to college kids. Aren't they in the business to make money??? You're telling me St. Francis could give 20 scholarships or more to McCort grads for next to nothing???? They are willing to give up over a half-a-million dollars annually ( 20 times $26,000) to recent McCort grads just because they got good grades in high school???? I'm sure everybody at McCort gets a 3.5, right? What does St. Francis get in return from these kids? What's the motive there?

Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
Maybe its not 3.5 it may be more around 3.7 or 3.8 im not 100% sure quite what it is but those three schools do that idk why they do maybe because they know McCort,Carroll, and Guilfoyle are the three best schools around here academics wise and that since their not public schools the kids learn values such as respect for yourself and others and things like that you dont learn at a public school

Re: McCort / Laurel Valley
Funny, I thought Westmont and Richland were pretty good academic schools. They don't even have the ability to "weed out" the bad students like McCort does. Please btw...if you are going to talk up the academic acheivement of your school, use proper grammar and spelling. It makes you (McCort) look really bad.
