Re: Scores Week 2
Reports from the MU/WB game said it was terrible weather conditions and there were a lot of turnovers in the first half that allowed MU to score 2 touchdowns. We were also without our speed threat in Mydell Loner, due to a one game suspension. I expected our defense to play strong, as they played strong against Huntingdon and the 22-3 score really didn't do justice to how close the game was for most of its duration. West Branch should be much better this year though than they have in the past.Coach wrote:NB lost to Glendale 19-8. Glendale scored in the last minute to set the final tally.
NB trailed after a poor first half...7-0 defensive struggle. After the half things improved as NB came out on fire. The defense held the Vikings to 3 and out on the first set of downs then moved the ball right down the field. Cody Troy scored on a huge 60+ yard counter play and Jake Stern scored the 2 pt conversion to give the Panthers an 8-7 lead. In the fourth things went downhill on a blown coverage assignment and Glendale scored on a 30ish yard touchdown pass. NB trailed at this point and just couldn't get things going tonight offensively.
I heard Everett played tight with Bellwood.
Is West Branch a lot better than they've been? They played closer than expected with Mt Union.
How is S. Hunt? They beat West Branch in a tight one a week ago...this week they lost to Juniata Valley.
Seems like the south is a division up in the air right now. It's looking like it should be an exciting run to the end of the season for most teams, as it looks like any team can win any game on the schedule. Southern seems to be down this year, but you can never count the Rockets out of anything. I think we're going to find out a lot about the south in the coming two weeks, with Mt Union/Tussey, Everett/NBC this week and Mt Union/Southern, Everett/Tussey the following. I feel like aside from Williamsburg, the south could be won by any of the teams and these two weeks will be a key in getting a leg up in the race.
The North should be interesting too, with Glendale beating unbeaten and traditional powers Moshannon Valley and Bellwood-Antis also unbeaten. It's Bellwood's division to lose as always though.

10-6 CC over Westy.

Portage 48 Blacklick Valley 0
Re: Scores Week 2
Beong ranked #1 in the state in class A hasn't been a good thing so far. According to MaxPreps, the new #1, Farrell, after Clairton was upset last week lost on Friday to Mercer 42-14!!! Ouch!!!
