Re: Coach Salem
I'm saying that most div 1 college coaches never heard of McCort let alone any district 5 or 6 highschool. While the area has had a few div1 kids in the past ,I wouldn't call it a hot bed for div1 college football recruiters.
Re: Coach Salem
Antwuan Reed, Larod, Andy Hawk, Shawn Lewis, both Cruz's Wayne Jones, both Kanuch's, Domonkos, Geroy, Artrell,.....the list goes on.......All went D1

Psycho... The state championships have only been going on since the mid 80's. Not sure where you pulled out the last time a local team went to the state championship was in the 60's. Just curious, how far up your arse did you reach to pull that out?

How many div 1 colleges are there in the usa budman? A hell of alot more than the handful of players you just named .Last time I checked texas ,florida and california have areas that get that many from a single high school.Go back to your bud budman you obviously don't know what you are talking about fat old budman!budman22 wrote:Antwuan Reed, Larod, Andy Hawk, Shawn Lewis, both Cruz's Wayne Jones, both Kanuch's, Domonkos, Geroy, Artrell,.....the list goes on.......All went D1

First, my point is that there are many reasons to root on a local team. But you should at least hope for their success to better your situation.
Second, your hate is blinding your vision...
Plus, there must be at least 20 guys from the area on D2-3 schools. They have got where they are by hard work, but to see guys like Hawk and Larod come out of here, maybe you'll find a guy or two who can play some ball.

Neither would I, yet Pitt, who came 5 seconds short of playing Florida in a BCS game has 5 guys from the Johnstown area on its roster, if Scotty Lewis is on their Defense maybe they make a stand!usatf oldguy wrote:I wouldn't call it a hot bed for div1 college football recruiters.

Great player, but NEC is far different from Pitt, but they sure could have used a quality player like him on the kickoff team!

I would love to see any kid from around the area recieve a scholrship for sports or academics.I wish all atheletes from the area well.Just saying in the larger scheme(d1) we are a long way from on the radar. The hater label is automatically given to anyone with the idea of privates in there own league. The problem is the PIAA,not the kids.Of course you have the people on here who won't admit the problem because it favors them and anyone who thinks otherwise is labeled!

wooaah...fire from those keystrokes! I can name more players from around the area if you want. Usually athletes from a certain area like Western PA, get recruited by the colleges around that same area like PA, WV, OH, MD, etc...I wasn't sure if you knew that fatguy?usatf oldguy wrote:How many div 1 colleges are there in the usa budman? Obviously, they are not getting to get the same look from D1 colleges in FL or CA or TX unless there is some ridiculous stud athlete.
As far as PA, Ohio, and other surrounding states where local athletes have played D1 football...this is a pretty solid area for D1 college football prospects especially McCort, who has had several kids go D1 and is currently in the semifinals of states... which gives them more exposure to recruiters.
Plus Bradley from PSU and Cignetti from Pitt both have close ties to this area and have had local athletes on their teams.
Also, you need to give up on the "McCort recruiting" card..It is played out..Please name just one kid McCort has approached in order to recruit to play football for the Crushers... Name one!
