I totally agree that preseason rankings mean nothing. Heck, rankings really dont mean anything at all because games are settled on the court.

I think that thread before was absolutely ridiculous. That being said to only lose to the 8th ranked team in AAA by 8 the first game of the year is a good sign for the young trojans.

Lets see sportsfan1000, you said that the team was ranked 8th in the state triple A can you prove this? I bet not. I would take a guess that you were trying to make a loss by Johnstown a moral victory. Well in the era I grew up a loss is a loss who cares if it was by 30 or by 1. Nice try though the Johnstown faithful will appreciate it.

To your credit they did lose to Hampton but that was the second round playoff game. I would love to see if you can produce were you got the 8th ranked in the state, or did you just make that up. If you did how much can we listen to what you have to say smart guy.

Here is the website posted by the Patriot News and if you read the article it says based on previous rankings and shows last years record. So to the credit of sportsfan they are ranked 9th, but this is based on the end of last year so I think you may have lost this one buddy.

Oh what the heck. There is the link. Looks like to me it says preseason rankings. I was off by one spot. Erie East's preseason ranking was 9th. Again, rankings mean crap, but it is what it is.

Also if you notice look at AAA. Last years champ is not ranked #1!!!! Wow, you were wrong again LHACTitan.

That being said they ONLY loss by 8. Boo Hoo every time Johnstown losses a game in every sport some fool gets on here and makes an excuse for why they loss. Well guess what they loss and guess what everyone has young players on the team. So stop your whining and get used to many losses this season. I guess when they loss their next game that team will probably be ranked in the state as well, or maybe they will have 3 D1 player on the team. I also think its funny how everyone talked about how good the sophomores from Johnstown are and how they are going to dominate, and as soon as they loss its Johnstown is so young. Give me a break, the team they just barely beat played 3 freshmen.

I think you can make a solid comparison between Johnstown Basketball and Notre Dame football. 1. no matter what their fans believe they are the best thing in the world. 2 they each hire a coach every other season. 3. the new coach makes it far with someone elses team. (Fuschina took Shipman's team to States Weis took Ty's team to the Fiesta Bowl) 4. always are said to have the best talent but do nothing with it.
