Re: Congrats PSU Men's Basketball!
What's funny is this post is only talked about by Pitt fans. Pitt wins another huge basketball game yesterday and the only thing they have to talk about is PEnn State basketball which by the looks of it is cared more about Pitt fans than PSU fans.

Actions speak LOUDER than words. What do you want us to say about Pitt basketball? I mean in football, how many times have you Penn Staters brought up the fact about Pitt losing to NC State? It has been a satisfying season so far for the Panthers, who played a great game yesterday. What do we need to discuss about them up until now? Meanwhile, PSU is not looking too good. By the way, Alderson Broaddus had 17 3-pointers yesterday vs UPJ. One more for PSU yesterday and we have overtime.

Re: Congrats PSU Men's Basketball!
Tell you what I noticed about BlueWhiteIllustrated online. Any time a good high school football player takes a little notice of Penn State, a big article about him shows up online. Basketball is different though. It's been 24 hours since PSU lost to Iowa yesterday, and not a peep about it. Not a mention. Never did see a write up about losing to UNC-Wilmington or Tulane. Is it an embarassment or lack of interest on PSU's part. Just wondering.

A poster on another site had a good point. He said that giving Ed DeChellis those extensions was like aspiring to play in the Motor City Bowl every year and not even making it half the time.
They seem to have the game close late in the games and have meltdowns. That's a coaching flaw.

Re: Congrats PSU Men's Basketball!
Most Penn State fans would not care about any Pitt sport. They usually are responding to comments made by Pitt fans about their programs. As for Basketball, I'm not a college basketball fan. I follow the tournament but that's about it. I'm not sure i have ever watched a full Penn State basketball game. I've probably seen bits and pieces of about 5 games in my life. All I am saying is that you're wasting your time trying to get a reaction out of Penn State people on this site with basketball, because i doubt anyone really cares that much.El-Moldo wrote:Actions speak LOUDER than words. Re: Congrats PSU Men's Basketball!
My problem is that I feel like I don't have a horse in the race. I like college basketball much more than the NBA, but I have trouble wanting to watch games of other schools that I really have no care for. My dad has always been a big Duke fan because he loves their head coach (yes, I purposely changed the wording to avoid spelling his name) but I really don't care about Duke, UNC, Kentucky, anyone. I actually have a handful of teams I root for from afar. I have always liked the following programs for absolutely no reason: Manhattan, Long Island, Rhode Island, St. Johns, Seton Hall, and to a smaller extent Georgetown.
If I AM going to cheer for a school, it is usually a school w/o a football program. That's why I root for Pitt. I'm kidding.
If Penn State or North Texas was remotely serious about men's basketball, I would care. I really would. But I feel like I am wasting my time watching this basketball team be doing well until the end of the 2nd and blow it time after time. That's coaching, that's not the players. Anything that happens over time, time and time again, is coaching!
I just can't get excited about men's basketball when I feel like I don't have a vested interest from an emotional stand-point. Some people read that and say "you should support the team regardless" but it goes beyond that. There comes a point where enough is enough. For the life I dunno how some of you haven't thrown the towel in yet w/ the Pirates.

Re: Congrats PSU Men's Basketball!
Someone a few days ago chided some Tennessee football kids for leaving Tennessee when Kiffin left, saying that it was a shame that they didn't stick with their school, instead of showing loyalty to the coach. Kirk is like that, I guess. His loyalty is not with Pennsylvania State University, but with PSU football only. That's too bad. Guess he won't be responding to many of the Penn State basketball topics since he really doesn't care. You got ham rooting for Duke, and coach rooting for Uconn, and Kirk for nobody. That's o.k. though. Posting about PSU basketball is interesting, and will continue to do so.
